In addition to being an influential model, style icon, designer and activist, Winnie Harlow now has a new title under her belt as the first-ever Global Ambassador for Paul Mitchell.
“Partnering with an iconic brand like Paul Mitchelll is close to my heart, as my mom was a hairdresser growing up,” Harlow shared in a statement. “I loved seeing her transform a client’s hair, put a smile on their face, and leave them happy and ready to rule the world.”
John Paul Mitchell Systems revealed the exciting news on Feb. 1, announcing that Harlow’s longtime hairstylist César DeLeön Ramirêz would also be joining the team as a brand ambassador. A veteran in the hair industry, Ramirêz’s impressive roster of celebrity clients also includes Ciara, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Ariana Grande.
According to JPMS Vice Chairman Michaeline DeJoria, the supermodel is a perfect fit for the forward-thinking brand.
“Winnie is a remarkable woman that inspires people to be fearless and live beautifully. She truly exemplifies our ethos and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Paul Mitchell family,” said DeJoria in a press release.
To kick off the partnership, Harlow stars in the brand’s 2021 campaign which is shot by renowned photographer Micaiah Carter. Celebrating “the power of self-expression through hair”, the black-and-white photo series gives a stylish nod to ‘90s hair, with the model rocking an array of hairstyles including a blonde pixie cut, blunt bangs, and voluminous curls —all created by Ramirêz.
