Co-Founder of global nail brand CND, Jan Arnold, predicts that 2025 will be the year for bold and exuberant manicures that highlight creativity and personality.
She anticipates longer nails, lavish embellishments, and tons of colorful manis this year, and also mentioned that even the well-known and classic French manicure will come with a twist.
“The resurgence of the French manicure is here to stay! But this season, the finishes are more dynamic,” Arnold says. “The smile line is more dramatic, the finishes are more dynamic, with chrome and even glitter overlays to elongate the look of the nail bed.”
As for nail shapes and length? Arnold adds that this year, they will go extreme, giving it a fresh spin from the original sporty ’80’s version.
Arnold says graphic prints, bold, high-contrast designs that make a statement, pop art, modern art and abstract designs, graphic line work, hand painting, will be the highlight of nail trends this year. Chrome, glitter, anything that screams glitz is here to stay.
“The expression of shine and reflection, going from glitter and shimmer, finishes pushing all the way to disco ball,” she adds, speaking on another big trend for the year. “The best part of this trend is the ability to encapsulate, secure, and lock in embellishments for service longevity and wearability. It was originally a special-occasion look, now it’s for every day.”
Because bold is definitely in, nail length will also play a big part. Arnold says the best way to keep your nails healthy and long is to keep “regular appointments, controlled lengths, and keep a daily conditioning routine. The layers of both the coating and natural nails need to work together as a team to maintain strength and beauty.”
