The Volume on Shania Twain’s People’s Choice Country Awards Hair Was Up, Up, Up!

For the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, host Shania Twain’s hair is giving Dolly Parton in the very best way. The incredibly voluminous, retro-inspired flippy blonde hairstyle by Sami Knight that Twain rocked on the red carpet is a study in maximalism. And, Knight teamed with SexyHair to make the style happen — which just feels right. More is more!

The Tease connected with Knight who generously shared inspiration for the look as well as the exact steps he took to create this style. He said, “Shania’s look today is a big hair extravaganza. Doing a little something different, but still evoking the yesteryear glamour of classic country music.”

Get the Look:

1. “We used a hairpiece for this look, as Shania’s hair is much longer than where we wanted it to sit today. I did a triple shot prep on the hair with Big SexyHair Root Pump Plus at the roots, Big SexyHair Big Altitude Bodifying Blow Dry Mousse for the mid lengths and ends, brushing through with my favourite REHAB. Vital Hair Brush and then finishing with Big SexyHair Weather Proof Frizz Control to seal in the look after blow drying with a round brush.
2. Use the shape of the brush to flip out the ends of the hair.
3. I next pulled out the front and sides of Shania’s hair, and pulled the remainder into a neat bun on top of her head, securing with pins.
4. I then added a donut shaped bun maker around the bun, for a little extra volume. I pinned the freshly styled wig over the top of the bun, blending the natural front and sides into the hairpiece. 
5. We mixed it up a little with the bangs, either pulling them back, or arranging down, framing the face.
6. Once complete, I used the Big SexyHair Volume Flex Texture Spray to add dimension and texture to the hair shape. I specifically love this spray, because the more you touch it, the more volume it gets. What could be better!”
