Are you a redhead forced to succumb to the blonde emoji to express yourself? Well we’re sure there are plenty of you out there and it’s just not cool. Talk about an identity crisis.
But this will soon change. Next year, all those bold red heads will hopefully get the option to properly express their hair color. But it gets better, with the addition of gingers, emojis sporting white, curly and bald heads could also be added. Now that’s the type of inclusivity we like to see in the beauty world.
Unicode Consortium, a software internationalization group (yeah we don’t know what that is either), has been working on this project for a while and although the emojis are exciting and glorious, they aren’t a sure thing. The emojis are currently “draft candidates,” which means they are very close to securing their spot on the keyboard, but the final decision won’t be made until early 2018 *cue the crying emojis*
Until their hopeful debut next June, the Princess Ariel’s of the world will have to express themselves with a different emoji.
We’re sure we aren’t the only ones dying to put these lil’ guys to use.
