MY SALON Suite announced it will offer 10 total $1,000 scholarship opportunities to help aspiring salon professionals achieve a license in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, nail technology or massage therapy in partnership with Professional Beauty Association.
The scholarship goes directly to the school they are enrolled in, reducing their tuition. Last year, MY SALON Suite awarded five students the scholarship.
“That’s very exciting for us to be able to have them see that and have the school see how we are supporting them as well,” said Kelly Westbrook, Vice President of Member Development.
MY SALON Suite is a salon suite franchise with over 300 locations nationwide with over 8,000 members who lease suites. Their buildings have on average 30 suites, these suites can be leased by salon professionals to grow their small business.
“We provide a turn key opportunity for [small business owners] to be able to walk in and start their own business,” Westbrook said.
In her role, Westbrook nurtures partnerships with brands that business owners need in their space. This could be anything from insurance to products.
“We introduce and refer,” she said. “That’s our motto so they can make them and their business.”
She also oversees the Suite Relief Fund, a member-driven program that raises money for causes like St. Jude and Professional Beauty Association Disaster Relief Fund.
Along with the student scholarships, MY SALON Suite offers $250 scholarships for members who want to continue their training. “We believe in them and they believe in themselves and we want to do it together,” Westbrook said. This year over sixty members in the franchise were awarded this scholarship.
Both this scholarship and the student scholarship are administered in partnership with the Suite Relief Fund and Professional Beauty Association (PBA) Charities.
Aspiring beauty, health and wellness professionals enrolled in school can apply online for the $1,000 scholarship by August 15, 2024. Winners will be announced in October.
