Season after season, the city of lights tends to be where the most exciting fashion shows and presentations happen, where the most experimental hair and beauty trends emerge. For SS25 things were no different. Editorial hairstylist and Scruples Haircare Brand Ambassador Jesse Koenig was in town to key several shows and somehow managed to squeeze in an incredible, sculptural hairstyle for the Hair Couture show.
That look gave a sort of modern day Marie Antionette with adornments, like gold foil and chains, and insane volume. Scroll for our quick Q&A with Koenig, including exactly which Scruples products were instrumental in creating this fully custom style.
The Tease: Describe the look you created in just 3 words.
Jesse Koenig: Beautiful, haunting, golden goddess.
What was the inspiration or reference for the hairstyle?
Koenig: Often, I will pull my inspiration from something small. Sometimes it’s music, a shape or, in this case, gold bobby pins and the black dress I chose [for] my model to wear.
Which Scruples Haircare products were your heroes for the show?
Koenig: For this look Scruples High Definition Hair Spray was the hero. I probably used a whole can for this look. Layer by layer as I was able to mold and manipulate the hair into the shape I wanted. Once I got the desired shape, I was able to lock it in with Scruples Rock Hard Finishing Spray.
How did you style the hair?
Koenig: My editorial work comes to life as I go. Most of the time I don’t know what I’m exactly going to do until I get my hands in the hair and start sculpting it. This time was no different. I had the accessories picked ahead of time and the black dress. The only thing I knew for sure was I wanted it to “have a moment” and be large to command attention. Giving a step by step for my Couture look is more like giving away my secret recipes!
