Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Substance, Margaret Qualley arrived at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards dressed in Chanel and wearing a twisted headband updo that almost mimicked a crown, fitting for her royal and upscale look during the event. The celebrity hairstylist behind the look, Anna Cofone, said that her inspiration to create the high pony and shiny rope twists stemmed from old Hollywood’s era of timeless elegance. “The graphic shape included a slicked back ponytail with the addition of rope twists in contrasting colours to create a striking red carpet moment,” said Cofone, about the look.
Cofone relied on Authentic Beauty Concept products and Remi Cachet extensions to create the style and walked The Tease through the creation process, detailing the step-by-step assembly of the updo.
Get the Look:
- Cofone repped Qualley’s’s hair with Authentic Beauty Concept glow serum and smoothed her texture with Tymo ring and Tymo airflow to remove all volume.
- She then repped Remi Cachet – Human Hair ponytail, 24inch with ABC working hairspray before creating soft waves using the Tymo Curl
- Next, she used the Authentic Beauty Concept Pliable Paste to slick back the base and control flyaways, and then attached the Remi Cachet Ponytail and secured rope twist extensions.
- Then, she added more waves using the Tymo Cues and used Authentic Beauty Concept texture spray to brush out the curl set in the ponytail, and create volume at the base.
- Cofone finished off by using the Authentic Beauty Concept Glow Spray serum to enhance colour shine and Authentic Beauty Concept Working hairspray again all over to set the look
