Get the Look: Jenna Ortega’s Gothy Venice Film Festival Updo

08/28/2024

At the ’24 Venice Film Festival, Jenna Ortega paid homage to her on-screen mom in a custom red Dior gown and a piecey updo. The hair, thanks to go-to Bobby Eliot, was a styled into a stunning low knot using The Hair Shop extensions and face-framing fringe. Basically a romantic, gothy dream.

Of the look, Eliot said, “we wanted the hair to feel effortless. We decided on having the hair swept up in a loose, deconstructed low knot.” Read on to see how it came together. Eliot shared his exact steps!

Get the Look:

  1. “Using a round brush, I blow dried the hair for maximum shine and root lift.
  2. I then used a several of The Hair Shop Skinny Clip-Ins for added volume and applied them in the back sections of Jenna’s hair.
  3. Using a flat iron, I created a texture to give the hair more of an effortless modern feel.
  4. Next, I swept up the hair loosely pulling out pieces to give the hair an undone feel.”
