New York City-based designer Heron Preston has always looked to the city as a source of inspiration for his eponymous brand since its launch. Of his FW23 NYFW show Heron said, “My mission is to celebrate the people that make New York the city that it is.” To accomplish this the team created a collection that was as layered and weird. The hair lead, Jawara, embraced “the New York vibe, too” letting models embrace their own styles, partnering with Blind Barber for grooming.

On men with longer hair, Jawara and the hair team used 40 Proof Sea Salt Spray ($16.00) to create loose, lived-in texture. To hold pieces in place and ensure a matte finish, they added a touch of 90 Proof Pomade ($20.00). The effect? Looking like the best groomed guy walking the streets of NYC.
