Since last week, powerful Santa Ana winds have fueled a series of wildfires that have rapidly spread across the Los Angeles area, causing one of the most destructive firestorms in California history. The fires have left several communities, such as The Pacific Palisades and Altadena, in ruin, with many homes, businesses, schools, and historic landmarks destroyed. Not to mention, tens of thousands of residents have been displaced and forced to evacuate their homes to seek safety.
Amid the ongoing threat of devastation, numerous community organizations and relief groups have jumped into action to support Los Angeles through this difficult time, providing emergency aid, shelter, food, and donations to individuals and families that have been impacted by the fires. And many local businesses including Black-owned hair brands, DreamGirls Hair and Donna’s Recipe, are rallying for wildfire relief as well. Keep scrolling to learn how you can support their efforts.
