Davontae Washington on Coco Jones’ Bold 2024 VMAs Hairstyle

09/11/2024

“She was a fairy” reads the caption to singer-actress Coco Jones‘ Instagram post revealing her 2024 VMAs red carpet look. It was ethereal but with an edge. Jones rocked a sleek bob with a severe part and MEGA shine thanks to celebrity hairstylist Davontae Washington and his go-to Eco Style Texture Edit products.

“This look can be described as sleek, bold, and confident, achieved using Eco Style’s Texture Edit line. Although I used these curly products for a sleek style, the results depend on the product and your hair’s unique needs,” said Washington. He added, “Eco Style products are fantastic because, whether your hair is curly or straight, they are light and easy to work with.”

Get the Look:

  1. “To create this style for Coco Jones, I began by prepping her hair with the Texture Edit Koily Moisturize Smoothing Butter, which makes styling easier and provides moisture, elasticity and softness to your hair.
  2. After blow-drying, I applied a dime-sized amount of Texture Edit Kurly Shine Glaze Serum from root to tip, adding more moisture and shine. I then flat-ironed the hair with a slight bend for added character.
  3. Using a brush, I directed the hair away from the face, finishing with a small amount of Texture Edit Define Elongating Cream to keep everything in place.
  4. To complete the look, I used Texture Edit – Kurvy Shine Lightweight Sheen for a glossy, hydrated finish.”
