For last night’s red carpet, celebrity hairstylist Tai Simon teamed up with ’24 Emmys presenter and nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph to deliver an absolute vibe. It was giving edge, sci-fi and definitely afrofuturism. Of the look, Simon took to her Instagram, writing, “… we imagined what it was like to be a black fashion icon in the year 3000 and I think we delivered just that.”
Randolph is known to experiment with hair color and this time she opted for a custom copper thanks to Simon’s expert use of #mydentity color and styling products. Scroll for a detailed breakdown of the look.

- “For the color, I used #mydentity Warm Series color Midnight Flame 7, and Naked Glow 9 with Crystal Clear and 6vol developer.”
Styling
- “To achieve this look I used #mydentity #mydentity MyHero Nourishing Crème while wet to add moisture to the hair and set the look.
- To define the texture look, I used #mydentity MyHero Nourishing Crème leave-in styler treatment on the top of my fingers and lightly pulled a few hairs out.
- To hold the finished product I sparingly used a strong hold setting spray to ensure nothing loses its place!”
