The 2024 Oscars were certainly an exciting evening for actress Emma Stone, who took home her second career Oscar for her portrayal of Bella Baxter in the hit comedy Poor Things. Though she gracefully played off a wardrobe malfunction during her acceptance speech, we were too focused on her stunning, effortless curls to pay any attention to a broken zipper.
According to Mara Roszak, the hairstylist responsible for Stone’s award-worthy ‘do, “Emma’s effortless waves were inspired by the classic architecture of her Louis Vuitton dress with a modern touch.”
Keep reading for a step by step breakdown of how Roszak, with the help of ghd hair, created this memorable look.
Get the Look:
- First, to prep the hair for blow drying, apply volumizing spray and hair serum throughout the rest of the hair to build the foundation of the style and ensure it lasts all night long.
- Next, dry the hair smooth using the ghd Helios hair dryer ($279) and place velcro rollers at the top of the head, one on each side, to help with extra volume.
- After taking the rollers out, tease the crown and use the ghd curve soft curl iron ($209) to curl away from the face and ghd curve classic curl iron ($209) to the nape of the neck.
- Finally, softly brush everything out and tuck hair behind the ears to finish the look with the styling oil for added shine
