Carlos Rojas on Why Building a Brand Partnership Is Like Dating

12/13/2024

No matter where you start or how far along you are in life, Carlos Rojas proves it’s never too late to change your path and follow your passion. What began as a career in hospitality, Rojas transformed into a thriving career as a hairstylist. Today, he’s a proud member of the Schwarzkopf Professional USA Digital Artistic Team.

At 29, Rojas took the leap to enroll in cosmetology school, bringing with him the invaluable lessons he had learned from his years of service in the hospitality industry.

Rojas credits the mentorship he received and the candid feedback – like being told he wasn’t good at cutting – for pushing him to find his true calling. This honesty drove him to specialize in coloring, perfecting his craft and finding his niche in the industry. The username “colorbycarlos” makes perfect sense now.

Rojas’ authentic approach to social media has helped him build a dedicated following and grow his career. His genuine passion and commitment led to a perfect match with Schwarzkopf. To Rojas, working with a brand is more than just a partnership—it’s like “dating”. Rojas shares his tips for courting a brand during the episode and they are not to miss if you are looking to team up with a brand in 2025.

Most recently, Rojas’ partnership with Schwarzkopf was on full display when he collaborated with Valeria Sandoval for her Latin Grammy transformation. He brought his expertise, creativity, and quick thinking to the table, crafting a look that was bold, dynamic, and worthy of the spotlight.

Using his go-to Schwarzkopf products, which he shares on the podcast, Rojas gave us an inside look at how he brought this transformation—and many others—to life.

From his favorite color formulations to styling techniques, he demonstrates how the right products can create show-stopping results. His technique proves you “don’t need to reach for the bleach” to get rich, vibrant reds.
