New York Fashion Week is an event known for lived-in styling, glossy makeup and neutral nails. This year, Bio Ionic and Ouidad brought a bespoke perspective to the fashion scene at the new Ouidad Salon at 9 E 19th St in NYC. The beloved salon professional brands kicked off the week with a “Curly Couture” event featuring all things curls and some limited edition must-have tools now available.
The co-branded event brought together industry leaders and content creators to discuss techniques for styling and enhancing natural curls including the “Rake & Shake,” “Curl Touch-Up,” “Defining Curls,” and “Twist & Set” in a hands-on experience emceed by Joel Calfee.
Models took the stage with hair prepped but only half styled, giving stylists the chance to walk everyone through their techniques step-by-step. As the models moved around the room, attendees were invited to touch and feel the hair, experiencing the texture and product effects firsthand.
The event also doubled as a live editorial shoot, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how these two innovative brands are making waves in the curly hair space.
