After working at a barber shop for a year, I quickly understood how a sharp, easy to manage, clipper and trimmer can make or break your haircut. A heavy or worn-out tool can result in lifeless hair and present a hazard for both the hairstylist and their client.
Andis Company, a favorite amongst barbers and groomers whose products are regularly used on big names like Drake and LeBron James, has been a master in tools manufacturing for 100 years. The brand just launched its new Black Label Collection which includes the Master Cordless® Special-Edition Clipper with a Phaze blade and the GTX-EXO® Special-Edition Trimmer, featuring the cutting-edge, never seen before M-Force technology.
Meet the GTX-EXO® Special-Edition Trimmer
The Black Label GTX-EXO® Special-Edition Trimmer offers a blade with the first and only M-Force™ magnetic tension system. Instead of the usual spring-based design, magnetic blade tension across the upper and lower blades promises consistency in power, stability and a true zero gap blade that facilitates consistent speed. This M-Force™ system allows for a quieter, smoother cut on all hair textures and styles, all with a higher power level, making it perfect for a precise cut.
Not to mention, its springless design decreases wear and tear on the motor, lengthening the tools’ life span and allowing for a less dangerous blade removal process. Its design is sleek, and the special-edition trimmer is also cordless, but don’t let that fool you. The trimmer features a rotary motor that works on 120-240 volts and 50/60 hertz. Plus, the slimmer yoke design enhances visibility for an improved line of sight.
I was also pleasantly surprised about the myriad of extra tools you get when you purchase the GTX-EXO®, which is priced at $190. It includes a charger stand, adapter, attachment combs, blade brush, guard and oil.
Meet the Master Cordless® Special-Edition Clipper
A little pricier, but still a reasonable price of $270 once you take its specs into consideration, it’s the Master Cordless® Special-Edition Clipper. Its adjustable Phaze blade is made of carbon-steel, bridging the gap between a fade and taper blade with a dynamic 22-tooth cutter that seamlessly transitions from 0000 to 0A, a new benchmark in cutting performance and precision.
This special-edition, all-black clipper promises to ensure smoother blending during fading and tapering thanks to its powerful 6,500 SPM rotary motor, which has a run time of up to 1.5 hours. It also includes a stand, cleaning brush and solution, and the OG size 0 magnetic attachment comb.
