If you’re planning on attending this year’s America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, just know that you’re in for a jam-packed weekend full of unmissable professional beauty events.
From April 15-17th, the salon pro industry will be coming together during ABS weekend for four major events that not only celebrate the industry’s best, but also envision the future. All of the events unite around never-before-seen challenges that call for an unprecedented level of industry-wide cooperation.
So, just what can attendees expect come ABS weekend?
Well, the three-day event kicks off on Saturday evening (April 15th) at ABS with the President’s Party, followed by the ABS Global Image Awards. For those who don’t know, this year’s ABS marks the show’s 100th anniversary and the show’s organizers plan to welcome thousands of attendees to a renewed education and trade fair.
On Sunday afternoon (April 16th), an Industry Leader Round Table will take place at the Loews Hotel in Rosemont, featuring top beauty and wellness executives. This invitation-only workshop will address the jobs crisis and discuss the evolving industry landscape. During the summit, which will be facilitated by award-winning author, change-management futurist, former beauty executive Minter Dial, workshop participants will share their visions to inspire solutions for professional beauty.
Sunday evening marks the Changemakers Gala—an elegant evening benefiting Beauty Changes Lives, which is the industry non-profit dedicated to making the beauty profession a first-choice career. The Gala will honor the legends of beauty and bring together industry members as a beauty family. Additionally, the Gala will be the official premiere of the all-industry KNOW Beauty SECRETS workforce recruitment campaign.
Moving on to Monday morning (April 17th), the KNOW Beauty SECRETS will debut to exhibitors and attendees at an America’s Beauty Show Townhall. This presentation will address the scope of the jobs crisis in the professional salon industry, demonstrate why all sectors of the industry need to work together to solve the issues, and explore the role each member of the industry can play in moving forward to secure the future.
To wrap up the weekend’s events, on Monday afternoon, the Unite As One consortium or leading industry associations responsible for the KNOW Beauty SECRETS recruitment, retention, and industry advocacy campaign will hold an in-person leadership meeting to plan the campaign’s launch on social media.
