Margot Robbie proved Barbiecore is here to stay at the 2024 Golden Globes when she stunned in a hot pink latex dress and freshly highlighted hair. Rather than a heavily processed platinum, Robbie’s hair was a more subtle and natural gold blonde. We were lucky enough to hear from celebrity hair colorist Jacob Schwartz on how he achieved this dreamy, doll-like look.
“When working with Margot I always use my ‘Spun with gold’ technique and have mostly drawn my inspiration from Botticelli in its conjuring of a gilded, backlit effect to the hair in real life; an overall solid but dimensional highlighting to the hair,” said Schwartz. “Emphasizing light, movement, and dimension, the technique is achieved by using a balance of fine highlights woven throughout the hair. It’s natural, yet almost too good to be true — an elevated version of your natural hair color or what you would dream of your natural color to be!”
Schwartz relied on Schwarzkopf Professional products while creating Robbie’s red carpet ready color. Keep reading for a full step-by-step on how to achieve the style!
