Just when you thought the Dyson Airwrap couldn’t get any cooler or more innovative, in comes a new version that’s set to take hairstyling to entirely new heights. Everyone’s favorite viral hair tool is getting a massive upgrade— and we couldn’t be more excited!
Called the Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler, this next-gen version launches summer 2022, so you won’t have to wait too long. If you were a fan of the O.G. Airwrap, just know that you can expect the same technology that you know and love along with some additional new features and attachments that will ultimately help improve your styling experience. These improvements were added to not only make the Airwrap much easier to use, but also to ensure that it’s much more functional across different hair types.
“The Dyson Airwrap is a styling revolution and unlike any other tool—back when it first launched and still today,” says Jen Atkin, celebrity hairstylist and Dyson global styling ambassador. “Now, the tool does even more, allowing owners to personalize to suit their styling preferences and their hair type. You can ensure every attachment in your box delivers your desired style, specific to your hair type. Something you thought couldn’t get better, just did.”
So, what exactly can you expect from the new Dyson Airwrap? This multi-styler comes with 13 different interchangeable styling attachments that are designed to suit any hair type. These new attachment offerings include: five bi-directional curling barrels that allow you to change direction as you style so you can create both clockwise and counterclockwise curls; four firm and soft smoothing brush options that propels air along the hair for more controlling styling, resulting in straighter styles; and a Coanda smoothing dryer that offers two modes to either quickly dry hair or combat pesky flyaways.
“Most styling tools ignore that hair types are very different—what attachment may work for one, could be detrimental to another. The advancements in the Dyson Airwrap multi-styler build on the success of its predecessor, through relentless research, user trials and advancements in computational fluid dynamics,” Dyson Founder, James Dyson explained. “The result: direction change barrels for faster and easier curling, reengineered brush attachments for more precise shaping, and an entirely new, dual-purpose Coanda smoothing dryer. Our ability to control airflow delivers enhanced Coanda performance to curl, shape, and hide flyaways—without extreme heat.”
If you’re already the proud owner of an existing Dyson Airwrap, you’ll be happy to know that all of these attachments are compatible with the original model—meaning that you can simply upgrade your attachments without buying the complete set. Once the new device officially launches this summer, each attachment will be available for purchase individually. Currently, the pricing isn’t available for the multi-styler or its attachments, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it cost around the same as the original, which currently retails for $550 with its attachments retailing for $39.99.
