Boy Band Hair
Brace yourselves, everyone: Backstreet’s [hair is] back, alright! Believe it or not, but the spiked hair of millennial boy bands past — think 98 Degrees, *NSYNC, Dream Street, and, yes, the Backstreet Boys is now trending once more. So, consider this your sign to grab some hair gel and get to spiking. Gossip Girl star Evan Mock has already taken a liking to the throwback hairstyle and even temporarily swapped his signature pink buzzcut for a spiked ‘do.
Technicolor Dye Jobs
If you’ve been itching to dye your hair a wild color, now’s the time because brightly colored hair is huge right now. Lime green and hot pink, are just a few neon shades that have been spotted lately on celebs like Dominic Fike and Evan Mock. Whether you follow their lead and dye your locks one color or an array of different hues like Kid Cudi, your look is sure to make a serious statement.
Floppy ‘90s Fringe
Remember the floppy center-parted hairstyle that ‘90s heartthrobs like Nick Carter, David Beckham, and Leonardo DiCaprio used to sport on the regular back in the day? Well, the retro style has made quite the comeback. As of late, Tom Holland has pretty much been a poster-boy for the once-popular look thanks to his groomer Rachael Speke. The actor is regularly spotted rocking middle-parted, grown-out curls that are pretty much flopped to perfection.
The Modern Buzzcut
While buzzcuts have always been cool, this year the rebellious cut has been given a modern makeover. The latest version of the buzzcut is much more relaxed and not as overly shaved as the ones that we’re all probably used to seeing. Already, Seth Rogan has made a case for this new take on the buzzcut and it’s truly only a matter of time before the rest of Hollywood’s leading men adopt the look as well.
Afro-Mullet
Just in case you were wondering, mullet mania is still going strong. Even guys with textured, Afro hair can’t seem to get enough of the retro cut. In fact, the afro-mullet has already been a big hit with stars like Usher, Jason Derulo, and Alton Mason. Similar to the classic mullet, the afro-mullet is short on the sides, long at the back, and shaggy on top. However, the beauty of the afro-mullet is that there are truly so many ways that it can be styled on Afro hair. You can rock it with dreadlocks, in a tight Afro shape, or even in a more twisted, textured look.
