Exciting things are happening over at Beauty Industry Group. The professional beauty company recently announced the appointment of John Costanza as President of hairtalk, one of BIG’s premier direct-to-salon hair extensions brands. In his new role, Costanza will be responsible for the continued buildout of the global hairtalk brand, assuming its operations in both Miami, Florida and Erlangen, Germany.
“I am honored to join the hairtalk team and will work hard to fill the big shoes that come before me with Richard Schoonover being a true innovator and pioneer in the world of hair extensions,” Costanza said in a statement. “I am also very excited to finally be working with Beauty Industry Group, having renowned credibility not only in the hair extension space but also as a great cultured company.”
A highly accomplished executive in the beauty industry, Costanza brings over 20 years of experience to his new position. Prior to joining BIG, he was the Vice President and General Manager of L’Oreal and Conair Corporation and the Group Vice President of Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. With his extensive background in both distribution and selling directly to salons, Costanza’s holistic view of the industry will be essential in the continued growth of the hairtalk brand.
According to a press release, Richard Schoonover, Founder and President of the hairtalk brand, will shift his efforts towards building the brand in Germany and Europe. The brand founder has achieved massive success in the industry, most notably with the invention of the Tape-in extensions method and the creation of two international brands — hairtalk and Hotheads.
Speaking on Costanza’s recent appointment, Schoonover shared: “John brings a tremendous amount of experience to the hairtalk brand. Through his leadership and strategic vision, hairtalk will continue to establish itself as the premiere worldwide brand of professionally installed hair extensions.”
